The Least In the East

March 28, 2011 therockers 7

While it looks like 1st place is all wrapped up by Hot Liquid (thank you Getzlaf/Perry/Ryan) the most intriguing battle is not only for 2nd and 3rd place positions between Magnum, CR8 and Assman, but for the lower positions in the pool. Goodfellas seems to have last place locked up, a seemingly unthinkable position at the beginning of the year considering he is a former SFHL champion and was in the mix last year as well. Behind the Mask’s decension was expected as it was part of his 12 year rebuilding plan. Where it gets more fun to watch, its the 3 way battle for 3rd last between Black Sox, Mr. Motorboat & the Punishers. With the Punishers, its almost a rite of spring to see the team in the cellar of the sfhl considering his tanking usually begins in November. For Black Sox, this year was about being allergic. Being allergic to any reliable starting goaltender that is. I’ll call it the curse of Nabokov, as he traded a very good fwd who will remain nameless (rhymes with Ketterberg) for the former #1. Then dropped him, then picked him up again when the red wings signed him (and we all know how that worked out). However he’s done a good job in rebuilding with young talent and should rebound… if he can get a goalie Lastly, we have Mr. Motorboat. You’d think a team with Ovechkin, Stamkos and Tavares would be higher than where they are.. but alas, its not. Mr. Motorboat decided very early that tanking was in the cards this year and he brought the tanking to another level. While staying within league rules, Mr. Motorboat has assembled a team of NHL degenerates that would rival the Syracuse Bulldogs of “Slap Shot” set of enforcers ever to disgrace a hockey rink (Ogie Oglethorpe anyone?) That being said, who is your choice to finish in the bottom 5 of the league? Or top 5 for that matter? You can respond in the comments portion. Commissioner’s picks: Top 4 HL CR8 MAG ASS Bottom 5 BS PUN MM BTM GF
