Active Lineup Salary Cap Floor Update

November 2, 2023 oldno7 0

Hi everyone, This past weekend we had, for the first time that I can remember, a situation where due to not making lineup changes a team’s active lineup fell below the salary cap floor. Our rulebook states; The penalty for violating this rule is that the lineup change made is void  but the GM will still be charged for the changes. In the event within the voided lineup change there are players that were traded/dropped, the penalty for failure to remove the player from the lineup will also be given. With this in mind, I will add to this rule that a GM has to get over the $30M floor by the next lineup change or else they will be fined $20, which is consistent with or other roster/cap penalties. I don’t like adding rules with out a vote, but in this situation I think its necessary in order to be consistent with our other rules. Just a reminder that the active lineup cap is probably the most difficult to manually track for Giulio, it is not instantly updated, so it may take a few days to discover that someone is under the floor, but at the same time remember that everyone is responsible for their own team.

Clarification of Max 30 Roster Rule

October 2, 2017 oldno7 1

As you all know the Max 30 rule is in effect. There are just a few things I wanted to make sure that everyone was aware of. It is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to track the number of players on your team. To help you, you will find on your team pages a “Player count” section, but just like when it comes to cash available you are still responsible in case of an error in this count. A few things to remember; 1- The Max number of players is 30. 2 – At any given point you can not be winning auctions that would bring your player total over 30. Example: If you have 28 players and have 2 open bids then there isn’t a problem, but if you bid on a 3rd player (while still leading the auction on the other 2), that bid will become void, you will be fined $20 and you will lose the full amount of cash that you bid on the “illegal” player. 3 – A trade cannot temporarily put you over the 30 player max. You must drop a player(s) BEFORE THE TRADE IS POSTED to ensure that the trade will go through. Any trade that puts you over will be void.   Any questions? or far out scenarios that you can come up with that need clarification?

THE OFFICIAL RULE CHANGES VOTED ON AT THE MEETING: – draft picks for money – if picks are traded for money, there are strict values that must be respected: – a top 3 pick, anything above $2,500,000 (negotiable between the GMs) – a first round pick (picks 4-15) – $2,500,000 – a 2nd round pick – $2,000,000 – a 3rd round pick – $1,000,000 – 4th round pick – $750,000 – 5th round pick – $500,000   MONEY FOR PLAYERS: – when we trade players for money, the money going the other way cannot exceed the value of the player’s salary   3 points for shutouts – effective for 2013-14, goalie shutouts count for 3 pts instead of 5 pts   rollback of goalie salaries – salaries for goalies as a result of the last rule change will be rolled back, the amount in question TBD   entrance fee – $50 effectively immediately, up from $40 – transaction fees stay at $2 each   trade approval period – 48 hrs has now been reduced to 24 hours   refused proposals: – ability to drop a player if he retires and get money back – ability to keep an extra player if he’s not played an nhl game

Everyone please take note

August 4, 2011 magnum 0

For administrative purposes, item number 2 in the rule changes from the waiver meeting has the bold, capitalized item added to it: 2- Drop Player: Now when you drop a player, his salary is 1/2 of what it once was. example: I drop a player who is 3M and get back 1.5M. In the old scenario, bidding on this player would start at 3M, but now it starts at 1.5M. Note – if a player under $1,000,000 in price is dropped, the new salary will not be set at anything lower than $500,000. Even if you drop a $500,000 player, his price will remain at that. The 1/2 rule really only applies, therefore, to players whose salary is above $1,000,000. IMPORTANT DETAIL: ALL PLAYER DROPS GET YOU 50% OF THE PRICE OF THE PLAYER. THE PLAYER IS THEN RE-LISTED AT THE NEAREST $10,000 VALUE, NOT NECESSARILY EXACTLY 50%.

Waiver Meeting – Other Details, Rule Changes

August 3, 2011 magnum 0

Hey guys, i know Giulio posted the waiver draft results, but I wanted to recap the rule changes we made as well. 1- After repeated emails to the whole group stating to ensure that if you could not make it to the draft, to make sure some other GM has your list and money to bring the the meeting. Joe Ferraro gave me a list, but no money. Therefore as a group we voted that he has to pay Joe D’Abramo 84$ before September 1st or be expelled from the Pool. 2- Drop Player: Now when you drop a player, his salary is 1/2 of what it once was. example: I drop a player who is 3M and get back 1.5M. 3- Trade Waiver Picks: vote was split. Needs to be redone at Auction/Farm Draft 4- Offer sheets: GM’s voted that the idea is interesting and that a proposal can be voted on at our next meeting. I won’t recap the results, because it can be found on our site. thanks Danny
