Hey gents… Looking for a protectable D-man… Little, Kadri, hemsky and/or picks available in return… Let me know if ur interested
Hi everyone, as a result of the draft lottery, i’ve updated each team’s page with the respective draft pick numbers. Please note that the lottery applied to round 1 alone, and in turn, the last place team still selects 16th overall (or round 2 pick 1). It is everyone’s responsibility to check their picks and get back to me if there are mistakes. Be responsible for your own roster and let me know if there are differences. Thanks, Giulio
This post is to serve as a memoriam, to the GMs we’ve lost along the way. Take the time to read and remember their, albeit brief, contributions to the SFHL. Montreal Extreme Owner: Anthony Macri Active: June 2008 – January 2010 One of the original 13 franchises of the SFHL, the Montreal Extreme finished the inaugural season in 9th place. Year two did not start off well for MXT as the franchise was buried in the bottom half of the newly expanded league. A change was desperately needed as some were beginning to question Mr. Macri’s commitment to the league. A general lack of activity fueled by an increasingly disinterested owner, who when actually engaged was notoriously know to be risk adverse in negotiations eventually lead the first ever sale of a SFHL franchise. Multiple interested parties emerged, but negotiations came down to the final two, with Mr. Anthony Campanella walking away with the winning bid. In the end, Mr. Macri was able stake a claim in the future winnings of the franchise he founded. Although the renamed MXT franchise managed to finished 3rd with its new owner the following year, Mr. Macri waived his claimed to any share of the winnings. Ultra Maroons Owner: Marco Soldano Active: June 2009 – March 2010 The Ultra Maroons joined the SFHL as one of two expansion teams for the 2009-10 season. After losing the coin flip to their expansion cousin, UM selected 2nd in both the expansion draft and the amateur draft. The free agent draft was where UM really made a mark on the SFHL by selecting mostly unknown players seemly based on the criteria of under 23 years of age and over 6’2” in height. This strategy allowed UM to enter the season with an almost unbelievable $22 Million in cap space, which lead to a spending orgy during the beginning of the season causing many free agents to be greatly overpriced. Mr. Soldano’s activity level quickly dropped off. Trade requests and emails from other GMs went unanswered for months at a time, leading to increased frustration within the league which in turn lead to an unfortunate incident in which Mr. Soldano unknowingly broke league etiquette during a heated debate. This incident along with the realization the commitment level required could not be matched lead to the resignation of Mr Soldano from the league. An agreement was reached with Roger Reinoso, who was supposed to join the league as an expansion, to take over the UM franchise. Behind The Mask Owner: Roger Reinoso Active: March 2010 – April 2012 Arguably one of the most controversial GMs to be in the SFHL, Mr. Reinoso definitely left his mark on the league. After taking over the Ultra Maroon franchise in the final months of the season, he successfully tanked the remainder of the year and secured the top pick in the summers amateur draft, which he used to select Taylor Hall. The waiver draft that summer provided one of the most humorous moments in league history when the league was informed that BTM would be protecting “Rangers” as their #1 goalie. BTM’s first full season was marked with a controversial vetoed trade in which a cash amount was negotiated between the two GMs. By the end of the season BTM was in 14th position and thus in position to participate in the 1st ever SFHL lottery draft. Going into the lottery, BTM held the 2nd best chance to win the 1st overall pick and ending up walking away with their second straight 1st overall pick, eventually used to select “Nugget”. BTM’s second full season started off strong but the early success did not last long. As the season wore on, Mr. Reinoso’s interest in the league seemed to come and go. Controversy was never far away from the BTM franchise. The final straw occurred when trade etiquette was broken and several GMs had had enough. It was decided by the majority of the GMs that the league and BTM should part ways. The end of the 2011-12 season was the final one for BTM as a replacement, Peter Ianuzzi, was found to take over the team going forward.
