Dustin Byfuglien Situation

September 17, 2010 therockers 5

My fellow GMs, Since Atlanta Management has declared that Byfuglien will be a Defenceman, and in the SFHL we have him classified as a Forward, this obviously will not do. Therefore he will be switched to defence in our pool as well and remain there for the rest of the year. This effects only Mr. Motorboat who has been made aware of the situation. At the end of the year I will re-assess his situation and see where he should be classified. If there are any other players where this is an issue, let me know and I will act accordingly to properly classify him. Thank you, Danny UPDATE: what I think is best suited, is to postpone this decision to the end of camp and see where he starts the year. If its defence, then he’s a defenceman for the rest of the year, regardless if he moves up. If he’s a forward, then we classify him as such. There is no right or wrong way to handle this situation as he has played both. But does that mean we need to make Brent Burns a fwd cause he’s played up front before? or Streit? So after hearing some complaints today, and seeing how camp is just starting, I’ll postpone the decision until the end of camp and see where he plays.

Waiver Draft Time and Location

June 11, 2010 therockers 0

Hello all, At the end of the hockey season, we must pay our respect to the Chicago Blackhawks for their impressive run during the 09-10 season. Their players are sprinkled throughout our lineups and are valuable contributors. Now on to the task at hand. I know we voted on having the waiver draft as an “online” format. But after discussing it with Giulio and Gennaro, this would present difficulties in effectively carrying it out. We couldn’t come up with a decent plan that can take into account feasibility, efficiency and timeliness. Since the voting was pretty close in deciding whether it to be live or online, we have decided to fall on plan “B”, as in to have it done live. Now I know you’re all going to say its not worth it just to select 2 players each. However, we will have our awards presentation for the Pool winner and GM of the year, as well as discuss rule changes and close any Spadafora-related loopholes in the rules. Gennaro has graciously offered his basement in his new home as the location of the draft and since at least half the pool come from laval, this will be an nice change from the ‘hood and tough streets of RDP. Now on to time and location. After discussing it at length with Giulio, the Waiver draft shall take place on SUNDAY, AUGUST 8th at 2PM. This means that your Protected and Resigned list must be submitted to me by MIDNIGHT on AUGUST 1st. This should give everyone the right amount of time to see who has been signed to what team, see what trades have been made, and for the newlyweds to come back from their honeymoon and still have some research time to decide on their roster. If you have a problem with the date, let me know now. If you tell me 2 days before that you can’t make it and we need to reschedule, well too bad, just submit your list of picks and we’ll make them for you. If only 1-2 people can’t make it, just submit a list and we’ll make the picks for you. If a large amount of people can’t make it, then we’ll reschedule. We want a listing of protected & resigned players a week before so that Giulio and I can issue a comprehensive list to the rest of you so that everyone knows who will be available at the draft and can react accordingly. If you have any comments you can post them below. If you wish to voice your concerns more privately, or curse my matriarchal parentage, you can do so by emailing me at dpetti@gmail.com. thank you, Danny Petti Commissioner of the SFHL GM of The Rockers

Yoshi’s Cookies is the 2nd Annual SFHL Champion

April 12, 2010 therockers 0

While never really in doubt, Yoshi’s Cookies officially won the 2nd season of the SFHL pool with a comfortable lead of 26 points. Second place came down to the wire however with Assman coming from behind (really, did you expect anything else?) and claiming 20% of the pool profits. Past champion Goodfellas nailed down 4th place and the coveted Bonbonniere on the last day by passing Hot Liquid by 1 point. UltraMaroons was also able to secure last overall during this last week of the season, meaning he has the first overall pick in the waiver and Farm draft. Congrats again to Yoshi’s Cookies, as he used an “unorthodox” strategy in order to win the pool. I will be posting an excel file with all updated salaries sometime in the next couple of weeks. The waiver draft will be held in August tho, so don’t rush. Reminder

April 11, 2010 therockers 0

Today is the last day to pick up a free agent, using the cash you have available as of midnight tonight. there is still a 48 hour window. However, i repeat that the cash that can be used is only the balance a GM has as of Midnight tonight (or sooner obviously). Players can’t be dropped for cash in order to finance a bid after midnight tonight.

Bruins clinch!!! Habs feeling the pressure.

April 10, 2010 goodfellas 0

Cam buddy, this ones for me and you. Last time I checked habs still need to clinch, and bruins are in 6th. Not bad for a team full of injuries and lack of scoring. Playoff berth and a guranteed top 3 pick in the draft, not a bad year. Enjoy the video! Playoffs!!!
