GM Penalty – Quebec Habitants

Hello my fellow GMs,

it has come to my attention that the GM of Quebec Habitants went over his alotted cap on the night of Oct 4th. See timeline below:

opening cash 10:00pm 5420
Oct-04 bid cumulative
z.michalek 10:37pm 1270 4150
d.girardi 11:04pm 1300 2850 overbid by someone else 1116am oct 5
s.lepisto 11:07pm 680 2170
n.gerbe 11:19pm 2250 -80 overbid by someone else 1236pm oct 5

a.radulov drop 9:25am october 5

As per the rule installed the night of the auction/farm draft, the penalty for going over your cap is the loss of the player you bid on, the loss of your cash, and a $20 fine.
All GMs present at the meeting were in accordance with this change in overbidding penalty.
Since there has been a time difference since this has occured, to rectify all player bids would be hard to do, therefore to simplify the situation the following will happen:

1- Quebec Habitants will be fined $20
2- Nathan Gerbe will go back into the Free Agent auction at his original amount.
3- all of Quebec Habitants current cash balance will be wiped out.

In conclusion, please check your cash balances before making bids. I had told the GM of Quebec Habitants to wait until the site was updated to make bids, but he ignored my warning. I have an email proving this.

your comments below will be appreciated, but as per the rules agreed upon, this course of action is the only way.

  1. So what your saying Chris is that it actually worked in your favor since you didn’t waste over 2 mil on Gerbe??? Lol

  2. Fuck you all…check the numbers as i ALWAYS HAD CASH IN THE BANK…THIS IS bs…DANNY CHECK YOUR SHIT BEFORE……I ALWAYS LOOKED AT THE SITE AND HAD A SEPERATE SPREADSHEET TRACKING MY BIDS AND THE CASH IN BANK…I DO NOT ACCEPT THIS PENALTY.

  3. SHOW ME THE MOVEMENT OF MY CASH AND THE BIDS PLACED AS i ALWAYS LOOKED AT THE SITE TO DETERMINE THE CASH AVAILABLE AND I ALWAYS HAD ENOUGH CASH TO BID…..SHOW ME THE TIME AND THE DATE OF MY PLACED OFFERS VS. MY CASH…..I DO NOT ACCEPT THIS SHIT…I EXPECT AN APOLOGY IMMEDIATELY…..

  4. Ok, Joe…while I understand why you’re pissed…let’s put things into perspective here:

    You lose:

    – Nathan Gerbe (a blessing in disguise)
    – cash balance of $190,000
    – Actual cash of $20

    In the end…ZERO consequence here!

Imagine – at this point last year I almost lost Joe T. for a similar violation…so it could have been a LOT worse!

  5. All the proof is in the post!

You did not have the cash and so this is the ruling! If you would have been at the sfhl draft we made it clear this rule will be enforced.
You Mis calculated and did not wait till the final rosters were posted.

You’re losing it for no reason! The proof is there!
If you believe you are innocent and want an apology, then come forward with your proof and I will gladly apologize and admit to being wrong.

  6. Joe, i think the problem is that you dropped Radulov after you made all the bids… you might have been ok if you dropped radulov before making all your bids. Sorry Joe, but like Vince said, consider yourself lucky we changed the rule or you could have lost a Sedin twin or Lecavalier

  7. Ok no one balls will be cut off.. but i will re-state the timeline as mentioned in the original post. its formatting got screwed up a little.

    opening cash 10:00pm 5.420M
    Oct-04
    Bids – z.michalek 10:37pm 1.270M Cash Left: 4.150M
    Bids – d.girardi 11:04pm 1.300M Cash Left: 2.850M
(This was overbid by someone else @11:16am oct 5)
    Bids – s.lepisto 11:07pm 680K Cash Left: 2.170M
    Bids – n.gerbe 11:19pm 2.250M Cash Left: -80K
(overbid by someone else 12:36pm oct 5)
    Oct-05
    Drops – a.radulov 9:25am 330K

so therefore at 11:19pm you did not have enough money to bid on Gerbe

As for leniency. We discussed this rule change specifically to make sure nothing like the spadafora incidents occur again. If you would actually come to the meetings and drafts, you would know this.
Also, the night of the 4th, I told you specifically to wait to make bids until the site would be updated that night so you would know your cash balance and you did not. I have the email to prove this.

We also have record of you throwing other GMs under the bus (Vince over the Radulov resigning) which was proven to not be his fault.

Also, you owe me 40$ from the last year pool winnings since i paid your part because you could not be there.

Your 20$ fine will be added to the pool pot. Failure to pay this, and the 40$ you owe me, will result in expulsion from the pool.

Also, we can’t retract bids he made after, it would technically undo everything that came after and would cause a mess. this is the proper punishment at this time.

Ok sorry for this long winded email but i figured i should respond to everything at once.

    thanks

    Danny

  8. i am happy the commish is finally enforcing the rules… i still think the rule of losing your best player should be in forced…LOL
